This course will involve gaining an understanding of the complexity of the honey bee colony by examining the healthy bee hive as well as hives afflicted with pests, pathogens, and problems. We will discuss seasonal hive management and bee feeding strategies. We will also discuss honey bottling and marketing. If weather permits, we will conduct a hive inspection in the bee yard.
