Purebred Russian:

• Increased Varroa mite resistance 
• Young queen open-mated and marked
• Highly resistant to Tracheal mites
• Overwinters in smaller cluster
• Brood rearing based on pollen availability 
• Lower probability of robbing 
• Color varies - typically darker in color than Italians
• Moderately gentle

3lb Package Description:The package contains approximately 10,000 RHBA-certified purebred Russian honey bees. The bees are housed in a "Bee Bus" that allows for sufficient airflow. The marked and mated queen is placed in a separate plastic cage suspended inside the top of the package. Accompanying the queen are several worker bees that tend to her needs.  Additionally, a can of sugar water is included in the package to provide a continuous food source for the bees.

We recommend installing your bee package the same day you pick it up. Follow the installation instructions provided via email closer to the time and given in person. A live demonstration will occur during our free event, "Bee Day," which is held on the same day and at the location of bee pickup.
